Betanarratives launched its second piece, Body Language, on the 16th of December at 277 Little Lonsdale St, Melbourne, 7:00pm. It's the product of sweat, blood, tears and maybe even a little vomit. Come along and make us feel as if all of the bodily fluid we lost in the making of this piece was worth it! In the BODY LANGUAGE game, each body part, within this mishmash of Frankenstein's monster-style bricolaged body parts belonging to different writers, tells of an interactive story (through film, animation, text, game-play, sound etc).
Stories of growing pains and lisps and kissing, stories of entanglement in one's own long legs and dismemberment and fear, stories of piercings and noise and silence, stories of anxiety and memory and cognition etc.
Featuring new writing by Gillian Terzis, Laura Elizabeth Woollett, Danielle Binks and Melanie Joosten, as well as comics by Dave Mahler, illustration by Meg Gough Brooks, animation by Steffie Yee, short films by Angeline Armstrong, music by Charlie Teitelbaum and much much more.
